Abstract: In response to the teaching dilemma of junior high English classrooms that "emphasize linguistic forms over thinking content," and following the 2026 annual theme of project-based learning in compulsory education — "Technology Makes Life Better" — this paper takes the project "AI Empowerment, Co-creating a Green Campus" as an example to explore the practice of project-based learning in Grade 8 English. Based on competency-oriented project-based learning quality standards, the project establishes a four-stage practical pathway: "context introduction and problem definition — inquiry analysis and evidence verification — solution design and technology integration — result presentation and value reflection." By focusing on how technology can solve real campus problems, the project guides students to critically understand technology and use it responsibly, achieving deep integration of language learning, critical thinking development, and sense of responsibility. Practice shows that this model effectively breaks down disciplinary barriers, fosters students' technological literacy and humanistic care while maintaining the essence of language teaching, providing a feasible path for English teaching reform.
