Ethical Risks of Algorithmic Recommendation in Online Ideological and Political Education: Challenges and Strategic Responses for University Counselors

Chinese Abstract: 在算法推荐技术深度嵌入大学生信息获取渠道的背景下，高校网络思想政治教育面临着信息茧房遮蔽、数据化约消解主体性、工具理性稀释价值关怀等新型伦理风险。本研究以广东理工学院一名受算法极端推送影响而产生认知偏差的大一学生为研究对象，剖析算法逻辑与思政教育目标的内在张力。研究表明，算法推荐机制通过精准投喂、情绪放大和圈层固化，弱化了主流价值的传播效力。辅导员应从提升算法素养、重构内容生态、强化价值导航三个维度发力，构建“技术为器、育人为本”的网络思政伦理防护体系，实现技术赋能与价值引领的有机统一。
Abstract: As algorithmic recommendation technologies become deeply embedded in college students’ information ecosystems, online ideological and political education faces emerging ethical risks, including information cocoons, data reductionism that erodes subjectivity, and instrumental rationality diluting humanistic care. Using a case study of a freshman whose cognitive bias was exacerbated by targeted algorithmic exposure at Guangdong Technology College, this paper examines the inherent tension between algorithmic logic and the objectives of ideological education. The findings indicate that algorithmic mechanisms weaken the reach and effectiveness of mainstream values through precise content delivery, emotional amplification, and echo chamber effects. Accordingly, university counselors should enhance algorithmic literacy, reconstruct the content ecosystem, and strengthen value guidance to establish an ethical safeguard system for online ideological education. This integrated approach seeks to achieve an organic unity between technological empowerment and value leadership.
